Alright here is the deal I bought 5 storage units out of an Estate Sale (not a Storage Auction). Upon digging which I have only got 2 done. I came up with some good stuff which will come later. What I need is an answer is this fake or not? Looks to smooth, Just NOT right? However it measures and well you see the scale? It sounds like silver. I'm lost.
Well one things for sure, even if it is genuine it's only worth melt. That thing has been polished to death.
Here is some of the other stuff, will post more as I get it out. 4 Ballistic Rolls of Washingtons with Asset Grading Registrations. Some JFK's, Three Rare Nickel Collection and alot more.
No clue. But I have looked them up and seen anything from 59.99-130.00. I have 2 of Denver and 2 of Philly.
It is genuine, IMO. It is well circulated (maybe to VF-range) and has been heavily cleaned and/or polished. -Brian
The weight is fine...0.03g is plenty close. This is a real common date Peace Dollar which has been polished. It may have been used in jewelery at one time. It is worth melt value which today is $21.50.
Thanks guys. Like I said I'm learning at you all help out a lot and I really appreciate everything. It was in a plastic bag and when I first saw it last night I honestly thought fake. I just got home with a scale and Mic and it measured up so I thought why not ask.
hey that sound interesting estate sale.. id like to know what all in numismatic items did you get??? id say those are gimmic prodcts..
Some JFK's nothing big, several Merc's, 1 Liberty Half, few Nickels including some War Time Nickels, and ALOT of just change from all dates and mints. Some Foreign silver and paper. Other than currency 3000+ Baseball cards, lots of antique Silver, atleast 500+ First edition Hardbacks from Tom Clancey, Jack Higgins, Lawrence Sanders, Robert Ludlum, John Grishim and well the entire 5 volumes of Martindale-Hubbell Law Dictionaries and First Edition Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
Exactly my thoughts, perhaps harshly cleaned with all those scratches and then polished to bring out that glare
Looks like a circulated, well-polished Walker. BTW, I'm curious -- which of the Harry Potter books is the first edition? Jonathan
The dollar is real, polished to Whit's End. As for the ballistic rolls, I saw somebody come into a coin shop and get offered face for them, si I would expect 1.5xface for them if that's what the coin shop is offering.
The coin is called a Peace Dollar, a Walker is the half dollar minted at that time About the Harry Potter books, I don't remember
It doesn't look fake, but it is well worn from heavy circulation. Common date and mint mark, has melt value.
