SWEET! Man, it'd be all about the luster here, super nice marks wise.....I'm gonna think. Is that a die crack on the temple/forehead or slab mark?
The only comment I can make is that it is so faint in hand that I cannot even tell if it is raised or incuse. If I really had to guess, I would say strike through - a hair maybe? It does not appear to have the characteristics of a scratch.
MS-63 Red reasons: There are multiple scratches on the OBV 1) on the brow near the temple. 2) at the back of the head to the rim. 3) from the nape of the neck down to shoulder. 4) from 3 o'clock to 5 o'clock running between the 5 and the 7. The REV looks ok with the exception of some questionable areas near the rim at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. I am assuming it is just the lighting on this lustrous coin.
I still have no idea what that that line is on Abe's forehead. My best guess is that it is raised - i.e. a die crack. This coin has a couple small nicks and the strike is great although not superb. But it almost looks proof in hand. Maybe my pictures don't show it that well, but his one has better luster than the 54-S. I am not sure I would have, but NGC says that the luster rules and gave it a 67.
This week it is Thad's turn to move up, but rzage is still leading. I show the top 11 this time since 10 and 11 are tied. Top 11.
