I thought I was progressing moving from "backorder" to "in process" with a moving delivery date. I guess the key is to have the notice "reserved" attached as well. I would spend the money in the secondary market if it wasn't so outrageous. So just like the 1995W, these will end up missing in my collection. Knowing this, my next decision is if I want to continue collecting the series or just sell them off. These were the only modern series I tried to collect. I may have to consider classic coins exclusively. Best of luck to everyone else!

My set just arrived, it is taking some fortitude not to open the box, but a local dealer is trading the unopened box for a set and some cash so he can get them all graded. He has not mentioned any cash, but I am thinking a c note would be fair for the unopened box. Am I being greedy? I think not since the set will cost him 100 to get graded, and will sell for a premium over the ungraded ones of at least 200.

    Or am I wrong?

chip: I feel like this is dejavu... didn't you ask about this in one of these thread previously? Have you not made a decision or is the guy now after you for the set you were discussing with him to trade/sell? My original suggestion remains the same. Since I offered it I have had my own A25 sets order for to ISR and are now in shipping, but I plan to wait until the Christmas holiday to open them even though they arrive very soon now.

no not greedy at all! the coins are worth what you want they are yours and don't let anyone tell you that you are greedy anytime a sell is made it is what you will take for item its entirely up to you no one else so if you wanted 1000.00 or 2000.00 its yours and you can do what you like !

Thank you for the advice, I missed the reply. I actually forgot which thread I had posed the question in.

The UPS guy just left. Got my 5 sets!!! The box is clean, no nicks, cuts or scratches. Nothing rattling around either. Trying to figure out which is the best and fastest way to ship to NGC. Any ideas?

USPS Express, fully insured. That's my recommend. Registered is the best but too slow for your needs. UPS and FED EX are more complicated with insuring coin shipments.

If he sits on them, he'll ruin the box.

If he sits on them long enough, maybe they’ll hatch and he’ll have even more sets.

With that in mind, my wife called me to let me know that UPS had delivered a package for me. Guess I'll have to get sick and go home early today.

I understand completely. I am considering closing my account with the mint. This fiasco has left me questioning whether this hobby is for me.

I have been reading so many of the posts in the other threads and what disgusts me the most is the greed of fellow man. Such is the way of the world, but I'm not sure if this is for me. Thank you.

I went in late today because my sets arrived. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

Don't worry, they've already been through UPS' hands, feet and who knows what else, if they survived this far, I'm sure a collector's TLC will be just fine, even if he plays the mother eagle (hen) and roosts on his new-coined babes. LOL!

Great! Glad to help. Can't wait to hear what grades you get back... keep us informed.

BTW, UPS made first attempt on mine and so delivery has to wait until next business day.... ugh!
