I called the mint today about my 38390xxx order. The lady I talked to said that everything was in order, she saw no cancellation notice and that I should be mildly optimistic. I'm screwed......
Post from Buck................................ I called the mint today about my 38390xxx order. The lady I talked to said that everything was in order, she saw no cancellation notice and that I should be mildly optimistic. I'm screwed...... Come on Buck lets be a little more Positive ... you have just a good of a chance as anyone else to get your order...Have happy thoughts
I see that you are very knowledgeable and experienced with the US Mint, LOL. We gotta keep a sense of humor about us, else we would become loonies like those running the mint. Oops, the mint is headless. Maybe someday they will decide to put somebody in charge of that place, then we will have a full blown mint director, and not somebody acting like they are. Hang in there
You know the worst thing about all this is having to wait all this time not knowing whether you going to get your set or not and then ending up with a dear john letter after all this... I will stay strong, however!
Sorry for the comments. I thought I was breaking down there for a minute, but now I'm back on track, checking my order status every hour. I've got to have that set.
:hail: Let me share my good news , just checked my order and my five sets just went from back order to " in stock and reserved". Order # 383883XX 5:57 EST. No tracking number yet and cancel box still there.. thought all was lost. HOPE EVERYONE ELSE GETS GOOD NEWS'''''''''''''''' I'm pulling for you Buck to get yours soon.
Just came back from lunch and checked. Yahoo, in stock and reserved!!! 383856XX. Good luck to everyone else.
My order 38386XXX has also changed to in stock and reserved. No tracking number either but the cancel box is gone. Keep hope alive.
You gave me a bit more hope Cochisz; your order is the closest to mine to receive the coveted ISR status I've seen yet . (38392xxx)... yes Copper Head keep hope alive!!
My order for five sets has arrived. The cardboard box was badly damaged, so much damage in fact that the coins in four sets were knocked completely out of their holes and a fifth set had one of the coins completely out of its capsule, laying in the bottom of the box.
Its almost like the mint doesn't care how its packed because they know you're not going to send it back! Unbelievable!
Sorry to hear of your bad mint packing job. I've seen tons of comments just like yours, so it's not just now happening. That started when they shipped the first box. I was really lucky, all of mine were packed perfect and tight. There's no way I could have sent a sealed box in for grading, not knowing if the might just slide aroind and get banged up during another 2000 ride in the trucks.
I was away from the computer all day but read about those who finally got in stock and reserved. Big Congrats!! Enjoy your sets. I know from experience that you guys have definitely done your time in waiting. Mine is still on backorder...38390xxx
Funny you mention that TC. It does seem strange that they didn't do hardly any shipping for about a week, and now thousands more get shipped. A friend and I were discussing that yesterday, and how they could very easily mint another 15,000 to make everyone around the cuttoff time happy, and nobody would ever know...not even the grading companies. I guess a handful of people would know, but even they could never prove it. They don't even have a mint director to control it. I think the main problem would be accounting for 15,000 extra ounces of silver.
In the Mint's defense, Onecenter, your box was badly damaged. I'm guessing that may have happened during transit. My one set arrived in such good condition, you would have thought the Mint personally delivered it Alaska. :hail:Congrats to Cochisz, Flying Dog, Copper Head & Krispy. Btbglb52, you are next, "come on down". :hail:
