We had a smash and grab overnight. Nothing too bad...The alarm scared them off pretty quickly and the police were here very quickly but the intruder got away. He didn't get much but I paid the price for forgetting to put this set in the safe. I know a lot of you scour EBay so keep this set in mind while browsing. This is the exact set that was taken. It was by far the best thing he got... the rest was just some junk coins and a cheap pocket watches. This was just taken about 5 hours ago so it might be some time before it turns up. Thanks gang!
Glad you weren't hurt, hopefully the thief/thieves will be. I'll keep an eye out on the various auction sites I frequent. Good luck recovering everything!
I honestly hope he tries to sell it locally. That is one of those sets that people will remember seeing. Hopefully he's a fool and leaves it in it's holder. I already have Emails out to all the other coin and gold buyers I could get contact information locally. If it comes up for sale I'll hear about it.
Yeah. Here's to hoping for a local, non-cracked out attempted sale of the coins. Hope someone tells him it's worth more in the case...
Sorry to hear that you got burglarized. Sounds like you've got a decent alarm system and it worked before the bad guys could grab too much. Do you have security cameras? One of the local B&Ms around me just had a new system installed after they got burglarized. Just one more deterrent to keep the criminals away.
Sorry to hear it happened Matt. If you haven't already, get it reported to NCIC - http://numismaticcrimes.org/ - right way. And make sure you call any and all dealers, pawn shops etc in surrounding areas. And you do it, and do it this morning ! The sooner the better. Don't count on the cops doing it.
Wouldn't it be just priceless if the stupid crook is so cranium challenged that he brings it back in and tries to sell it to you? Don't eliminate that as a possibility - stupider things have happened which is why they have reality TV. In reality you might not have to have a real security camera - but even the appearance of one that is out of easy reach can be enough to scare off fools.
Thieves. Hate 'em. Sorry to hear about the burglary. But glad the system worked and that the thief didn't get away with much. I hope insurance covers things for you. Lance.
Hey Matt, What city/state was it in? So I can scour craigslist and other local selling platforms. edit: Duh, just saw it in your profile. Indianapolis. Also, sorry about the burglary. I suppose it's better then getting robbed at gunpoint during business hours.
