Glad to hear that the burglary was after hours and that your Alarm System wasn't compromised . Insurance should cover your losses, so that should dampen the feeling of being victimized somewhat. Obviously is these tough economic times, some folks are just irrational enough to commit brazen daylight robberies subjecting innocent lives to severe risk and emotional trauma. Happy to learn, this was not the situation.
That's already standard practice in most of the shops I go to, and I've long since come to expect it. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work.
Glad to hear noone was hurt and your losses are not too bad. Maybe time to get bars for those windows??
Sorry to hear you got hit. My son just lost a friend last night for all the cash in his Domino's Pizza bag. The kid was 19, and killed right in front of the pizza place for a lousy 20 bux. When the economy goes south, lowlifes think the are entilted to what you have at any cost.
Thats a great set of Morgans you lost there. I hope you get it back. And I really hope the perp goes to jail for this. How bad was the damage to the shop?
Some People resort to unspeakable actions or crimes when hard times hit. This is a senseless crime. My condolences to this young man's family and friends.
Sorry to hear about the burglary Matt. Glad nobody was hurt. Did you notice any unusual "customers" lately? I am guessing a local petty thief/addict who will probably break open the slab and try to spend them. Hope he gets caught and justice served. TC
Wow, that really hits home with me because I have a relative who used to deliver Domino's pizza I hope they catch the lowlife murderer.
I hate to say it, but the crack-head will probably sell it to a coin collecting family member for $25 who will then bust it out and sell them on eBay for $$. :heated:
Sorry to hear about this, hope the perp does not have a fence, so that way, the item might stay in the area. Unique piece, those are some good looking CC's in there.
A similar set, advertised as the [h=1]Wild West Collection 1882cc-1883cc-1884cc-NGC Certified All MS65 -NO Reserve!!![/h] is now for sale on ebay, item # 170702654707. Seller is americancoin-2009. Store is located in delcity, OK, United States. I sincerely hope this is helpful! Coin Stasher
While the sets look similar, it looks like the eBay slab has a different number (it appears to end in "3446", while Lost Dutchman's slab ends in "5832", although admittedly the eBay photo is very fuzzy)
Too bad about the robbery. It might end up in our country and I will keep an ear and eye out for you.
Any chance someone knew the set or the other items were not in the safe? It's sad but important to look close to home. Keep in mind any customers that came in that day. It's also important to search around the building. As crazy as it seems, check on top of the roof. It's common for bad guys to hide stuff and come back after things cool down. I could tell a wild story or two, on deals like this. In one case the goods never left the building. It took weeks to catch the real thief. Just some thoughts.
