Hello, Im reaching a point in my collection that includes 1864L 1869/69 1872 1877 and 1909s. How do you tell its and L with ought an L on it. Like in a G or vg condition?
If the coin is such a low grade that you can't see the "L" on an 1864 bronze cent, you can still tell it's an 1864-L because the bust will be pointed, as opposed to rounded.
