Hi everyone , I belive what i may have is either a shawdow letter either a N or a U. The Pictures where very diffcult to take, But you can make it out. Now it doesnt resemble what i have seen in Die Varitys from cherry pickers or from Ken potters Page. Any Ideas or am i just seeing things. Thanks again All

What do you mean by shadow letters

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

I can see something incused between the "N" and the "G" in the motto, but can't say more than that. We'll have to wait for someone more knowledgeable to offer an opinion.

I due appolgise for not saying where the The shadow mark is, Thank you rickmp for pointing that area out. But it is faint to see but can be seen. Thanks again everyone for taking a look and letting me know what you think.
Could this be a another variation or erro for the 1983 cent???

Most likely machine doubling or die deterioration doubling....no added value.

Here are a couple more Pics of the obverse and Reverse, The Reverse looks to have a Extra columes and the Liberty looks to have some doubling.

Thank you for the reply Badthad, But doesnt machine doubling take place along the letters and is shelf like?? The area that im looking at is the space between the N and G of In God We Trust, The doubling along Liberty looks to be Machine doubling to me but i could be wrong.

I'd say polishing marks and clash marks, maybe even a dropped letter or two.
