How many Coin Talkers subscribe to Coin World?
Over the years it sure did change a lot.
I really like the new section on notes.
I really hate that half the magazine is a freaking price guide though!
Theres really no need for it every month. Maybe once a year..but not every month.
Giving that every other coin magazine is really nothing but a price guide, Coin World should just stop!
Its still worth subscribing too even for 1 decent article. You will also get yours in the mail before the newstands have them.
If I see an article about a coin Im selling, I know it will sell fast if its in coinworld.
Just reading the new issue and there seems to be only 1 good article: about some guy who stole a bunch of gold from the SanFran mint,
buried it, and killed himself. When new owners bought his old house they found his stash box buried in the yard! Pretty cool story.

I let my subscription lapse a few years back. I get everything I need right here. :)

True indeed! If I had to choose one, it would be CoinTalk for sure

When I started buying and selling coins on eBay I started getting Coin World in the mail. Don't know why. I usually thumb threw them then toss 'em in the garbage.

I subscribe to it and like it. But, I wish they would arrive on time. Sometimes I won't get an issue for several weeks, then get three in one week.

Maybe, I thought about paying the extra for the dark wrapper for the cw. But, I already get enough of those - don't want the mailLADY to think I'm some kind of weirdo.

I read it free at Barnes and Noble or the local public library.

I have been a Coin World subscriber since 1987 and just renewed for a 25th year. I continue to enjoy the weekly magazine and all the expanded features on world coins and currency. Nonetheless, when it came to the most recent US coins, the most up-to-date, timely and complete information available about the 5-ounce uncirculated silver "pucks" came not from Coin World, but right here among our own members.

Funny thing. A couple of years ago you got the "digital" version for free (years subscription) if you were a member of the ANA. All ya had to do was sign up. So I signed up and enjoyed the on-line version for over a year and a half. At the end of the trial period I got the e-mails requesting moola to continue recieving the the digital magazine. I ignored them and was promptly cut off from recieving the magazine (Promptly as in "it took 'em six months to realize I wasn't going to fork over any "jing". :)).

Fast forward to last week. I would periodically get e-mails from these folks on "headline" stuff that was going on in the hobby. Links were provided so that I could read selected articles. While perusing one of the "selected articles" I was offered a chance to "log in" to view the entire publication. So much time had gone by that I had forgotten my old password to access the site so I hit "forgot password" and subsiquently got an e-mail response containing my password. I plugged it in on the sign in page and "presto". I'm all of a sudden getting the digital edition again. Baffled and perplexed am I, but it does save me a trip to the local public library......if only for just a short time. :)

Sometimes I get a free copy at a show. I only subscribe to Coinage which I think has always been a good one. Their price guide is only a few pages.

Hands down the best one is The Numismatist which you get for being an ANA member. I just read the digital version online. The August issue is 148 pages. Several adds but NO price guide taking up space. I spent several hours reading it Sunday morning. There was a great article detailing how the ANA plans, packs, travels to and sets up for shows like the Worlds Fair of Money, including the people and expenditures involved. Very interesting article.

Every month it seems to include several small articles, an article on U.S. coinage, a historical article, one on World coins, an article on ancients, one on paper currency and sometimes a couple more. It's very well done and the best, IMO. And it's free with ANA membership. I chose the digital version because I'm already storing more magazines than I have room for. You can always go back and find past issues too.

Just got my renewal notice in the mail and have decided that I will not resubscribe. Most of the coin news I get is from here and from Numismatic News. Coin World no longer does anything for me.

I like Coin World quite a bit! ...especially the articles by Paul Gilkes. I had some questions about the how the Mint administers the First Spouse series and Mr. Gilkes responded to my emails personally and posed questions to the US Mint on my behalf. Yep...I like Coin World!

I like the Error coin section in the back. I also like the news articles and the opinion pages...and the "Are You Aware?" feature. It costs me about a buck a week and I spend that much on a lot of stuff that has far less value to me. My subscription is coming due at the end of the month and I plan to renew.

I subscribe to Coin World and Coinage. Between the two, I prefer Coinage for the simple fact that there is way less advertisements, and Ed Reiter is one of the best editors of any numismatic publication I have ever read. However, Coin World is a wealth of information I look forward to reading each month.

In my opinion Coin World and Numismatic News should be madantory reading for any coin collector. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I have learned over the years just from reading those 2 magazines every week.
