    Guessed 66, but wonder if LDS luster didn't win the day and the coin graded 67.

    If subdued luster can lower a grade , this luster should raise it .

    You may be correct, but the mellowing (particularly visible on the reverse) along with some light obverse spotting gave me pause.

    PCGS can be really stingy with the 67 grade, in my experience. NGC, not so much.

    And truth be told, neither you nor I know what the coin looked like when it was slabbed -- for all we know it might have been a blazer and completely spot free when in the grading room -- and predicting what the coin looked like when slabbed is the toughest part of these guess the grade threads, to me at least.

    Well, I'm going conservative on this one at MS66.

    Strike and luster are there, However, usually my pictures over emphasize the marks on a coin. For some reason, this picture did a good job of hiding them. There is a line of marks from Abe's collar right down the middle of his bust. They are in the picture if you look closely, but they do not shine like they usually do. With that in mind, this is a nice 66, but that is all it is
