Don't collect much paper money but I like old bills with different designs. Here is a Series 1963 B $1.00 Bill 1963 A $5.00 Bill 1934 $20.00 Bill
You've got one of the famous "Barr dollars". When I was a kid, people were saying that the dollars with Joseph Barr's signature were going to be valuable because Barr was only Treasury Secretary for a couple of months or so. However, during that time, they still printed these notes by the millions, and when I finally got one and took it in to my "friendly" neighborhood coin shop for my "reward", I was told that my find was worth one buck.
Joseph Barr was only in office for 30 days, but the notes were printed for 13 months. In fact Secretary Barr was long out of office before the first notes with his signature appeared. I have to admit that was a bit surprising since it should have been obvious that Barr would not be in office for very long at all. You would have thought that they would have contacted Nixon, found out who he planned to name to the post and would have started working on HIS signature.
An appropriate name (Old bills) for your thread beanz. Although the $5 and $20 have had several design changes, the $1 note looks much like the one dollar notes being produced today.
Yeah, One dollars are boring. $20.00 had a few in the past few years. same basic design but slight changes. Never found an old $10.00 though
I would go to your bank and ask a teller if he/she would be willing to keep their eyes out for you for that old $10. You never know...
