i need some help. i would like to know about the dime i found. i just recently started adding more nickels and dimes to my collections and i came a cross this coin. help please.
This was one of a few dimes to be made without an s mint mark. 1968, 1970,1975, and 1983 PROOF dimes without the s mint-mark. But, This is not an s but a 1968 P.
Roosevelt Dimes minted in Philedelphia do not exhibit a mintmark. The only Roosevelt Dimes with an "S" mintmark are the proof issues (example is the one Taylor101 has listed above). This coin looks to be a business (made for circulation) strike minted in Philedelphia. This being said, your coin is worth a whopping... *drumroll*........................................ 10 cents! :too-funny: -Brian
Not too much mystery here. It's a Philadelphia mint mark. The cents also doesn't exhibit any physical "P" mintmark.
Tha would be because no the philidelphia dimes had a p because no mintmark ment that it was minted in philiadelphia!-Taylor
That should be, "The only *clad* Roosevelt Dimes with an "S" mintmark are the proof issues." There are 10 different "S" mint silver dimes that were minted from 1946 to 1955, but none of them are proof.
Psssh, you know what I ment. ...Besides, that doesn't even pertain to him. His dime is a business strike. But thanks for the correction always. -Brian
