Harry W. Bass was undoubtedly one of the greatest collectors of all time. At his death in 1998 his was the most extensive collection of US gold coins ever assembled. He also owned one of the largest numismatic libraries ever formed of over 10,000 numismatic books and catalogs. The Bass Foundation web site is an invaluable resource for those who wish to take the time to use it. The amount of information that it contains surpasses any other site that I know of and includes a complete gallery of the Bass collection as well as a searchable database of the library. Be prepared to spend some time here and plan to return again and again.
