Silver? Pewter? Very nice piece in any case, do believe I would have jumped on it as well for the right price.
Well, it sat out at the FUN show all weekend in a booth in the foreign section and I bought it on the last day for 100 bucks. I don't think that was too bad. Matt
every collector ought to own a few medals. I've got one of Aphrodite done in 1828 by Anton Bovy when he was an apprentive to James Pradier in Paris. Just the sexiest thing you've ever seen(!) Also a couple very choice NGC slabbed German Zepplin medals from the late 1920s which aren't really rare but are in sensational condition.
:kewl:I am not sure if I posted this before. but I think I did not as I had edit.this was free in Xmas card from a Buddy I grew-up with that now lives in Switzerland,Its only 5c coin but it sure looks proof like + if were Gold!:thumb:
FUN colorful coin(s) I got two very colorful coins at the FUN show. This one is a Sudan proof 1969 10 Millim. The price was $1 The colors in this photo are very much like the coin in hand.
FUN Great Britain 1887 3 Pence with great colorful toning This Great Britain 1887 3 Pence has really atrractive toning IMO.
Is that a Maundy issue? They often have toning like this, probably due to the presentation case they came in.
You have fantastic taste in World Coins, collect! I love the color on both the Sudan coin as well as the 3 pence
Sorry for the bad mobile pictures .. FAO money boards #1 & #4, they are the cheapest of the series at 15$ each but still I am happy with the purchase
Coincidentally, I purchased this FAO money book this last Sunday. It has a few silver coins in it. Does anyone know where I can find information on these 2 Malta coins? They do not appear to be in the standard Krause book.
I purchased some other coins from the dealer. In total, I suspect the FAO book cost me about $2 per coin. He certainly would have charged more if I was only buying the book. That seemed quite fair since the Nepal, Malta, & Vatican coins are silver! I've come to know this dealer quite well. He mentioned that he purchased another identical book in a large lot of material. If you are interested in the 2nd book, then I could send you his name & phone by PM.
there is only one source for theses sets http://fao-coins.info/fao-1.html main page http://www.fao-coins.info/
