A Christmas present to myself! I used part of my bonus from work to pick up this pair of consecutive numbered $10 notes with stuck digits. I waited all week to get a shot at them and I managed to win them both (they were in separate auctions):
Yep! I got them for just about my max bid. A few dollars more and they would have been out of my reach.
very nice additions. nice CU notes, with a pedigree :thumb: of all the notes i have, i think i only have a couple error notes. they can get real expensive fast.
Excellent. Absolutely excellent score. Have you looked up or do you happen to know any background history on who James Winston was or what sort of collection he assembled?
That's a project for the new year. I'm going to contact the seller and try to get the information from him. It seems he has a large number of notes from him so he may have personal contact.
COOOOL notes! My boss gets stacks of two dollar notes and most go in order, by the hundo. I look through for consecutive star notes, havent found any yet but I've seen some in person.
I got an answer from the seller in regards to James Wilson: "A banker from Ft Worth Tx who worked in the sorting room for many years. He also bought notes from dealers and at shows." It appears he had an edge when it came to collecting working. Every paper money collectors dream job!
I think you posted this on an 8-year old thread that has nothing to do with your banknote. You should start a thread, if you have a different discussion.
