I added this more scarce 1957B YA block to my block set: and picked up some new $100's that will probably be spent...
tigertrader; What surprised me about the new $100 was how blue the overall note is. Do you find it true on your bills too? Your pictures are not as dramatic as my bills look in hand. Yours may be because of your lighting? Or mine because of heavier inking? From what I can remember, the sheet of $100's the mint displayed at the World's Fair of Money, wasn't as dark either.
They are maybe a little more blue in hand but the picture represents them well. It brought out the quil pen more than it shows in hand. I know there are mixed opinions on the notes but I was pleased with them in hand. The hologram strip is pretty cool but I may have placed it elsewhere myself. Either way it looks hard to fake... Here is a new 1996 $50 star, for not much over face...
New Atlanta addition to my 58 district set of 1929 $20 FRBNs. I'm now halfway there... although I'd prefer the CGA to be PMG or PCGS. I might swap that one out if another comes up for the right price. I'm dreading the day I am left with Dallas. It's going to drown my bank account. Also picked up this sheet of $20 Boston stars from 2004A for $30 over face. Run of 382,000.
Nice set you have going funkee! I feel privileged to have this near perfect example in my collection:
tigertrader; I was going to ask if that was a self find, but then I saw it was a 1935E series. Great pick-up. I cannot remember another like it. I'm not into the small notes that much, but am I leading a sheltered life not seeing this level of quality before?
I am glad you like it! Salty, I did not find this note raw. I am not sure one of this quality would still exist in raw form unless someone just didn't know that they had such a nice example. It is PCGS pop 3/0 with about 1600 notes graded. I had to take the picture at an angle because of the glare but in hand the note and the margins are as good as it gets!!! I have some more registry quality notes that I need to take pictures of but until then, here is some Mexican notes I bought from a large lot:
Found all of these bills at work yesterday. Unfortunately most of them are pretty worn. 3 Star Notes: What do you call it when it's almost a binary but has one extra number?: Repeating: Low serials:
What do you call it when it's almost a binary but has one extra number? You have the correct answer already: Almost a binary.
