If I had those coins...I would put them in a safe deposit box...get a letter of value and take a loan if I needed some cash..you do not run into these everyday..the 1$ coin will only appreciate over time..I would be smart with these coins...not trying to tell you what to do..but please think it over and make the decision for your FUTURE..not the present!

Wow, that's a good idea! I didn't even know you could do that. I'd really like to keep them all if I could, and that way my sister could get her money and I'd keep the coins. Thanks for that info!

I have a suggestion....and I think the rest of the guys on here would agree.
The coins you have are rarer high $$ coins....to get the most out of them and to make sure you don't get ripped off I would suggest calling a few Auction Co abotu selling them
Heritage or even DLRC...http://www.davidlawrence.com
The reason is that if you try to sell these coins most dealers aren't going to have that much to spend on one coin....and as Ricky said....it is kindof rare to find such coins and questions are going to be asked alot.

I would suggest Heritage.....they will sell the coins and take a small % out of the ended price and you get the rest....you don't have to worry if the winner doesn't get them....you don't worry about a thing.
DLRC will do the same but I think you might get better prices from Heritage.
Both of these places aren't going to rip you off.....the coins will sell for the going price....I would wait untill you could sell all of the coins at once...and not just one here and there.

Hope this helps---since you seem to want these coins I would see if your sister would let you buy them off of her....I don't like the idea of a loan...I guess it is because in Math I have been learning how much of a rip off loans are.....but be glad that you only have 1 sister....my dad is also a collector....and us kids will get the coins down the road...but I have to put up with 2 sistesr

Thanks Speedy! Yeah that might be a good idea. I had no idea of the value of these coins and wouldn't want to get ripped off. At first it was really cool finding out what there worth but now it's getting a little scary. Guess I'll just have to be careful and learn as I go. Thanks for your advice, it's appreciated!

"The next two are 1906 and 1907 $2.5"

These coins can range from 210-6000+ depending on the grade. Are they graded or can you post photos?

Yeah sorry, I was getting a little nervous because of a few strange emails I was getting so I deleted them. The emails may not have come from here, but figured I'd better play safe. There graded MS-64 Thanks!

BTW--As long as the coins are the slabs like the last few...that is what you call that kind of holder....and as long as they are from PCGS (like the last few) or NGC or ANACS or ICG....you don't need to post photos if you don't want it....it is nice and such and we love to see the coins but if you don't feel safe about it just posts the date/grade/mintmark and anything else you think we might need....we can find a value from there.

Thanks, that's the way I'll do it from now on then. How much does it cost to have coins graded and slabbed from one of those places? The reason I ask is because we also have some other coins that are just in some cheap plastic cases that might be worth having done. Thanks!

PCGS has them listed at $1600. I checked ebay and there weren't any real comps. Hope that helps.

BTW, those really nice coins.

What I was going by is what is on the holder.....since when we look up prices that is what it will go by.
