From the NGC website:
"Welcome to the NGC Online Population Report! Numismatic Guaranty Corporation provides this information as a service to collectors and numismatic professionals. The online report will be updated
weekly on Mondays to offer the latest figures for coins graded by NGC."
Funny...last
month I sent in two NGC inserts from slabs I broke out. I sent the actual paper insert with a note requesting NGC update (reduce) their population reports for these two particular coins. I have been checking the "Coins We Grade" site under NGC weekly and the population reports have
not changed! Now, these are for two older coins and I know wat you are thinking, maybe they had another submission come it to fill this slot...not likely.
I emailed them last week about this and I received NO REPLY. Now, I crossed these NGC coins to PCGS holders (crossed at the same grade where 3 others did NOT cross) because I am looking to sell them. Of course, as it stands right now, PCGS slabbed coins for the same coin in the same grade sell for (95 out of a 100 times) way higher prices than the same coin in the NGC holder. So after submission costs and all, I will still be ahead!
Just how often does NGC update their POP reports and how accurate do you think they are??...makes you wonder.
