I hope there are a few Barber collectors who are willing to post their images. I'm in the process of having the Half Dollar collection professionally imaged [ with Todd of BluCCphotos ]. But - here is a sampling...
How did I know you were going to start this thread? I don't have any Barbers anymore, and when I did they were all low graders... I'll look forward to looking at yours though, and Todd takes some pretty amazing images that is for sure Very nice coin my friend.
Nothing quite as spectacular as the beautiful toners and high grade Barbers above (or possibly to come), but I love worn coins too with their honest character attained after a long life spent in transactions 1898 Barber Half 1915 Barber Quarter
illini that's what mine look like I do have a few high grade ones to go with them but lots of the low ones to love too!
One of my favorite finds from metal detecting is a Barber dime. I live in central Canada about a hundred miles from the U.S. border. Back in the early days, Winnipeg was a popular destination for U.S. tourists and a trading center. One of the stories I heard (not confirmed) was that there was so much U.S. currency here that it was regularly crated up and shipped back to the States. So far, the only silver U.S. coin I've found is a 1904 Barber dime. Well worn and bent.
