Friend from work has these notes and asked if I knew what they were and what they worth. From what I can tell they appear to be genuine. These are the pictures I was sent, they are not the greatest and if you need better I will see what I can do. So any information is great and any opinion on grade and value is appreciated. Thanks.

I have seen the $20 several times and think thats a fairly common note
The $500 on the other is a different story, If real could be worth some
    Bucks!!

From the little bit of digging on the internet that I have done I have came to the same conclusion. I'm thinking that if enough people think the $500 is genuine I will try to talk my friend into having it graded.

I talked to a shop friend of mine and he said that the date your bill is showing is a common replica date for the $500 bills. However, there ARE genuine notes with this date. If it is real, it could be worth a couple hundred to a thousand based on grading condition. I would recommend finding a dealer near you to get at least one other opinion before sending it off to be graded and authenticated.

I'm confused by the statement about the date. Aren't *all* notes of this type dated February 17, 1864?

At a glance, this note doesn't have the look of a replica. It's printed in the correct colors, and the signatures are the correct faded brown rather than matching the black printed portions of the note. Doesn't mean it's absolutely genuine--just that if it's not, I'd probably lean more toward calling it "counterfeit" than "replica".

Yea I'm pretty sure they all have the same date...don't know where that came from.
As for original. Feel them and see if the paper feels the same. It should be thin and fragile. Should even smell old :D
The $500 is a good one the other is common. If the paper feels right it looks like it just might be real to me.

I believe your T64 is genuine. Appears to be in Fine-VF condition (remember that the graders aren't so critcal with old CSA and large size notes) and I think the current market for yours would be around $400-$500. Nice notes.
