A few weeks ago I found a 1970 S cent in a circulated roll and was very excited for a minute to think that I might have found a small date. Well, it wasn't. So, I found myself in a coin shop today and saw this coin for sale for $0.25

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you.... Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
I would like a larger date photo to be sure, but it appears to be a large date. I can't see the inside of the 9 well, but I think I see the crease between the horizontal and vertical part of the 7.

if that is true, then you have better eyes then I.
Look at the word Liberty, it appears to be worn/faded as all 70s small dates. Also if you look at the hook of the number 9 it has the same shape as a small date http://www.lincolncentresource.com/s...smalldate.html
If I am wrong I will apologize however i hope I am right this time
Try blowing up you picture and posting it on photobucket.com
and try to enlarge the date and the word liberty.

That is a small date. Look at the hook on the 9 and the height of the tail on the 7.
Just guessing, but that should be somewhere around a 63. Numismedia says that goes for $30. However, there are enough of those around in better condition, I think you would be lucky to get that much for it.
I do have both in 1970s proof set on Ebay for sale in One Lot Item#110534611874
One is Large Date second is small date. So it's easy to tell if you compare both smalldate and large date.Smalldate is High 7 Large date is Low 7 from the Mintmark.
