my birthday is wednsday and my grandma has a confederate bill. she has no clue, what year or value or anything, i told her to surprise me. she does not collect coins/currency, she found this bill working a long time ago. i never seen it. she took it to 2 coin shops, one offered her $15 and the other offered her $100. she decided to hang on to it, because she wasn't sure of the value, then forgot about it! i will post pictures when i get it. she is also giving me 2, $2 bills that are unc and are older then 1970. they also have serials that are in sequence. i am excited. before i knew what i had i sold my 1950 $20 silver certifact for face! i also had some $1s and $5s. i also sold my ww2 military payments, they were in bad shape and i needed to upgrade anyway. right now other then foreign paper, my oldest is a 1993 unc $20 i also have 3, 2006 $1 bills that are in sequence. should i even hold onto these? i don't want to hold onto something that is very common. they are nice and crispy, if it matters
Yeah, get some pics uploaded as soon as possible. Then we can give a fair and accurate price range for the notes. I always like sequential numbers, but sometimes they won't make or break a purchase for me. It all depends on rarity and how badly I want the note. As for the newer bills, if they are in at least uncirculated condition, then it is always a wise decision to hold onto them. Look at it this way, you'll always have some extra money lying around if you need it and/or don't want to keep it around.
my birthday didn't go as planned. i spent most of it at the hospital with my girlfriend, she is still very sick. my grandmother didn't want to bring the note down there with all the things going on, and now she is in D.C. for work. i don't have it in hand yet. trust me i think about it every day, and can't wait till she gets back. and she is not even sure when she gets back, whenever they negotiate a new union contract. i told her just agree to whatever they want, so i can get my note :goofer:! maybe the note is trying to tell me something, since she found it in D.C. it may not want me to own it.
Think about your ailing girlfriend first, then the note------in that order. Then post when you get it. The note, not the girlfriend! :goofer:
