Hey guys, Just picked this baby up at the coin show yesterday, thought it was pretty unique. I thought I'd start off a thread and see all the old tickets you folks have. Could be from conventions, exhibitions, etc. Anyways heres mine!
I was waiting for someone to post a concert ticket or something. I have always retained my old movie ticket and concert stubs for most of my life too. I have small boxes all over the place with them tucked away.
I find it funny that the only ticket you held onto is a Tony Bennet ticket that you did not attend lol
The shows that I had seen (Led Zeppelin; Iron Butterfly; Moody Blues; Santana etc.) were the ones that I was under the influence of certain intoxicating substances and I couldn't remember what happened to the tickets. I wish I had those now!
Well Duke, truth be told, I did not actually attend the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition either... maybe Steve was at the 1932 RNC... I don't know him well enough to know his age.
Man, I wish I could post a pic, but the ticket stub is in an old suitcase under the stairs, and I'm sure its buried on the bottom. 1981 Rolling Stones, Pontiac Silver Dome, Michigan. Bus tour from Toronto, to Detriot..and full of the festivities on the way there during and back.:kewl: The bus driver even made a beer store, ice and rolling paper stop on the way down.
Really nice Steve. I'd never thought of old tickets before, but they're a nice piece of history and ephermera to see here.
There's several of these posted in the American Bank Note thread... http://www.cointalk.com/t94549/ Here's some from various political conventions: http://www.cointalk.com/t94549/#post821053 http://www.cointalk.com/showpost.php?p=865944&postcount=72
