two years ago i went to a coin shop to look at anything coins, and my friend who owns the shop asked me if i was interested in 40,000 buffalo nickels, with all no dates. i seen a big box, i said WOW BANNER(not sure what that means?) i check a few and there were no dates. man i will never forget that in my life. in a few days he sold them. i asked my friend what did the buyer do with them? he said,"the man uses them to make bracelets, chains, watches, etc.. it was sad to see them all with no date. mintages from 1913 to 1930. that is what i got from it. i am not trying to insult anyone, just trying to help the op. i would put my money on the idea, that english is not his/her first language, and figured i would try helping them.
That's the jist I got as well. It is sad to see all those nickels with no real collector value, although jewelry is probably a good option for them. I just think the dates were raised too high on those, and the standing liberty quarters, so they just did not last. I have found plenty of IHC or V nickels with far more wear that still have visible dates.
yea, it sucks i got a ton of buffalos with no dates. other then the dates, some are in great condition, even have S and D mintmarks. i love slq's and only have 1 right now, it also has no date, but in decent condition:crying:.
Thank you because I am fully DEAF hard to spell level and I try do best explain to all collector coins. Thank you so very much:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:
In some coin shops in Arizona, New Mexico, and even Mexico border shops, dateless buffaloes go fast and in large quantities. Once in Flagstaff, there was an ad in the newspaper, listing 4,000 in a bag. Gone when I called, but he said they went at .10 each, which I thought was about .02 high at the time.
I'm hearing impaired and know ASL. My former employer paid for me to go to learn ASL because a lot of their customers are deaf.
Thank you so very much yes you right ASL is America Sign Language and I very glad you learn :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:
