I think this is why some say volume is key. Our 8th box this month yielded 16 silver halves. 4 enders. It was nice to open a box and see silver. 14X40% and 2 x 90%. One of the enders was a 1951P Ben Franklin.

We also got 3 NIFCs and a 2002S proof in decent shape. We are getting another box tonight from a new batch of halves at the bank. This one had 5910 stamped in the yellow box. It was nice to find a good box like that after 4 days of not being able to hunt because we were at the beach. Back off vacation and back to 5 boxes a week.

    Good luck to everyone!

To add to this, 1966 and earlier are 80%, 1967 are either 50% or 80%, and 1968 are 50% or not silver. Use a magnet (or your eyes, they look different) to tell the difference on the 1968s.

Stopped by a bank I usually go to once or twice a week on the way to work, to pick up a few rolls of random change and see if they have halves, which they almost never do. Today I saw a teller that I only saw once before, and I asked her if they had any halves. She said "No I'm sorry we don't... oh wait" and then opened her drawer and pulled out a taped up single roll, which I happily exchanged for a 10 dollar bill. One of the other tellers who usually helps me even joked around that I finally got some halves there.

I got in my car and opened one end, and saw the reverse of a Franklin. I started to get excited and opened the rest of the roll:

    10x Walking Liberty Halves: 37, 38, 38D, 39, 42, 43D, 44, 44D, 45D, and 46S
edit: oh snap that 38D is a key date too!
    8x Ben Franklin Halves: 51, 52, 58D, 60, 61, 62, 62D, and 63D
    Also a 64 Kennedy and a 67 Kennedy

After a few slow weeks this month, another awesome score! I'm actually pretty excited to find that they're all different dates/mintmarks, maybe it's a sign that I should try to start filling out a BF/WL album at some point.

What should i get? I have 100 bucks. A box a nickels, 100 in dimes, or 100 in halves? Im trying to get 30 bucks for something other than coins. Even though I have 100 bucks, that is going to be for coin rolls. Thanks!

That's an awesome score, Atreides. You win with that 38-D. A ~$70+ for fifty cents. Very nice.

Additionally, I did $20 in nickels and although there was nothing spectacluar I did get interesting rolls. Someone dumped rolls of 60s and high mintage 50s and 40s. This must have been someone splitting up some Whitman's of Jeffersons.

Is this true for all Canadian coins (excluding pennies) or just dimes?

All except cents and nickels. However, as you go further back, they used sterling for coins. Not sure when they switched to .800 from .925, but I think it was the 1920s? Give or take 10 years.

Box of dimes, skunk. Worse than a skunk actually - found a penny ender on one of the rolls. One more box waiting for me after work!
