1981D woodgrain cent

    I've seen woodgrain mentioned on the forum before. Is this feature worth anything more than a cent in this condition?

    It seems that there are alot of 81s with some woodgrain. I would call it pretty common.IMO Value from what I've learned is up to the buyer. It doesn't add value to the coin But it does add eye appeal which helps buyers go a little higher. This is all my opinion though.

    I really like "Wood-Grains" and have several Lincolns from different years. I even have a couple of Canadian cents that have the same effect. All of mine have come from coin rolls. It would have to be pretty spectacular for me to buy one but that's only because I enjoy the hunt. As for how the effect is caused I'll leave that to one of our forum experts to explain.
