zip lock bags

    No, I would not use them at all. I would get a book with slots for currency or currency sleeves (you can get for pretty cheap)

    They're not stiff enough to keep the notes safe , but would probably be alright if you had something to keep them straight and then put those in a ziplock to keep them clean .

    Is there pvc in zip locks? Would they stain or degrade the paper?

    They don't contain PVC, at least the types used for food storage for the same reasons they are harmful to coins....they leach into whatever is inside. You can buy protective sleeves in bundles of 100 for less than $5. It's a wise investment.

    No..I would not....
    It would be easier to get the Mylar sleeves and the cost is near the same.

    Spend the $5-$8 for the Mylar..

    thats 35 cents per sleeve. many banknotes cost 10-15 cents or less. Kinda weird...

    I get mine on ebay. I like the individual top load sleeves. Keep an eye out. I see them for about 8 dollars average for 50.
