I'm thinking of an Albatross on a stick (a la Monty Python) being attacked by a pack of hyenas wearing diapers.

Now THAT would be an avatar that no one would ever forget.

I recommend your avatar be changed to the Greek letter Delta (Δ). This would be a good choice for you because:

1. Lately you have been interested in ancient coins, including Greek coins.
2. In mathematics, science and engineering Delta represents change (as in ΔT for the change in Temperature).

 

For a nick like stainless, you might want to try a coin that is struck in iron.
