I am new so I hope this isn't in the wrong section.

I have a number of coins to sell and am wondering if going through a dealer, an auction or Ebay is the best way to get the best prices for your coins?

Thanks for any help on this.

Depends on what you have. I've noticed Ebay usually is the best place for common coins and sets as you get close to book value, where as if you took them to a coin dealer you'd get between 50-60% of value, on a good day. For key dates and bullion you'll get close enough to book from a dealer that it would be better taking them there, because the margins are much narrower on these coins.

Internet forums like this one....no fees and direct to your target audience. I would only use ebay as a last resort. The fees will eat you alive.

I disagree, the fees may run about 14% including Paypal. However your potential buyers increase from a few hundred to a few hundred thousand, thus increasing your chance of a much better price on ebay.
