I wanted to buy some uncleaned ancient coins and try to clean them and identify them. I am looking for info on a good dealer, or at least info on what to look for/avoid. I thought about getting a dozen or so to try. I've seen lots of dealers on ebay, and some others on 'Vcoins.com" but am not sure what to look for or watch out for. I just think it would be a fun project to do with the kids.

You should be pretty safe if you buy from Vcoins.

It's been a while since I got into the cleaning process but there are several good sources on the net. To get really good ancients (for cleaning) expect to pay between $3.00 and $$$up each. Check the sellers feedback and besides having a 99.5% and higher rating look to see if buyers with feedback numbers above 250 have been buying recently.

    Good Luck
