UK Euro Patterns Legitimate?

    I've recently been seeing auctions for UK Pattern Euros. The coins themselves look great, but I'm not sure that they are worth the price. Here are a couple of recent auctions

    Those tokens are worth the price that you are willing to pay ;-)

    Since the UK is not part of the currency union, the British manufacturer and distributor does probably not violate any law in their country. Seems that the same applies to the "Danish" pseudo-euros they make. But in some member states it is not legal to offer/sell these tokens, either because the design resembles the actual euro coins, or because medals and tokens may not have "currency unit names" such as cent. Other than that ... if you like them, buy them.
