I read a comment on another site about a three-digit number "hidden" on the back of a 1995 series $5 bill and was curious to know if anyone knows what the number is. I can't even find any information about the 1995 series.
Another trivia tidbit. All the state names on the real memorial are included on the image of the memorial too. Need a magnifier to read them, though.
Actually, not all the states. Only 26 of them and New Hampshire shows as Hampshire, and South Carolina shows as Carolina.
This is the type of thing that makes coin talk a great place to visit. You can find out about anything coin/currency related just by asking the question. I agree - "Cool :thumb: another item to look for "
Maybe I phrased that wrong. I meant to say that the ones that are visible on the real memorial, but point taken.
Same here - I couldn't find it on the steps. Is it specifically on 1995 series or on any pre-1996 series also? The states names are also hard to read on 1995 notes but they are very clear on newer series.
I had no luck finding the number 439 on the 1995 5 dollar note. If the number is there it's very well hidden. Lou
I coulcn't find the 439 either. I know I'm stretching it a little but I found 172 in the bushes.lol...... John
I'm still looking for this... perhaps I'm blind, but I'm just not seeing it. Come on, someone please post this! You've got my curiosity piqued!!!
1995 $5 Bill Reverse 3 digit hidden number I made a mistake. The number is 172 and hidden in the bushes.
I have never heard of this error before this, so hopefully one of the forums more knowledgeable members will confirm or deny this and if they confirm it ... lets hope they post a pic
