    It looks like someone tried to stamp it. Notice the letters YI accross the steps on the reverse.

    Budgood is correct the coin has been squeezed. If you look right under the letters (AMERI) on the revers you will also notice Abe's ear and hair from his beard.

    The YI is really the TY of LIBERTY in reverse as it was squeezed into the coin. A Squeeze job for sure. Just damaged.
