Excuse my ignorance but just want to learn. You across-the-ponders have a whole different vocabulary concerning US coins and notes so what is a "radar"?

a radar is a note where the serial # is the same both backwards and fowards for example 50577505. just like the word radar is the same backwards in fowards.

Thanks for the info. So has the word radar been in use long or recently coined? and why not a racecar?

You do realise that I'll have to go through my 2,300 plus collection looking for them now!

Why not Bob. I have some Bob notes.

A radar is also called a palindrome, but people found radar easier to spell.

Bob works as well. And racecar too.

I prefer palindrome but since the currency collectors tend to use 'radar' I can learn to use that term too. To me the term radar is a little obtuse in conceptually describing what's going on in the serial number but I get it...

Here's a fun book of palindromes one can usually find pretty cheap used:

Madam I'm Adam by William Irvine
    ISBN-10: 0860516997

    BTW, Nice notes Urban!
