Here’s another chance — actually two of them — to win some coins from your humble collector.

This contest will run until 11:59 pm on April 30.

Edit: this contest is now CLOSED. Winners were announced in Post #79.

    Here are the two prizes:

FIRST PRIZE — Nine Jefferson proof nickels, running from 1956 through 1964, in coin capsules.

SECOND PRIZE — The special mint sets Roosevelt dimes, 1965-67, in coin capsules.

    Here are the rules:

    1. To enter, post a coin, paper money, medal, token etc. that you would be proud to show off. U.S., foreign and ancient entries all welcome. Be sure and put ENTRY POST on your entry.

    2. You are limited to ONE entry post. Multiple entries will all be disqualified.

    3. There will be two winners selected by random number generator. Although the nickels are listed as the first prize, the initial winner may claim the dimes. In that case, the nickels will become the second prize. Contest entries will be designated a number for the drawing in the order they are posted.

    4. You must be able to receive your prize through a domestic U.S. address. I will pay for the mailing and tracking.

    5. I must ask that you have at least 50 coin-related postings to Coin Talk to enter.

    6. In case of disputes, I will ask @lordmarcovan to mediate.

    7. You may designate your prize to a young collector if you choose.

    8. If you are under 18 and live at home, please get your parent or guardian’s permission to enter since I will have to have your address if you win.

Now, good luck and have fun!

I drove to Hobby Lobby today and grabbed some nickel capsules. Put these guys in them, but have 8 more left. I just recently picked up a TON of proof nickels, mostly 80s and 90s so if I win I'll go all out on them and pick up all of them. I have felt a Jefferson nickel bug recently, but I suppose I can do proofs instead of circulating issues ;)

The reverse proof has the unfortunate obverse scraping. Worse than I thought! But boy she looked nice out of the terrible plastic

Since @Evan Saltis has admittedly caught the "bug" for Jefferson Nickels, I'd like for him to receive the prize if my entry post was randomly selected. Anyway, here's one of my favorite acquisitions from the past month.

    Faustina I Sestertius Combined.jpg

    Faustina I (Senior)
    AE Sestertius
    A.D. 150-161
Obverse: DIVA FAVSTINA, draped bust right, hair coiled on top of head
Reverse: CERES, Ceres standing left, holding corn-ears and long, vertical torch; S-C across fields
    Rome Mint
    RIC 1128; Sear 4621.

Upon the unlikely chance of me winning, I'd like to defer such to that fellow from Maine named Evan. Seems like a nice young fellow.......

Please post it on a separate thread under Error Coins with pictures of obverse and reverse. Lots of knowledgeable guys here but a contest thread isn’t the place to ask.
