where do you guys get your Half dollar boxes? from the bank or do you order from somewhere?

the fun for me is not spending any money and finding cool things

From a bank. Seek out a bank that will order you coins without a fee. Sadly, the number of banks willing to order coins without a fee is decreasing over time because too many CRHers abuse the privilege. Good luck

It is harder for me to find a bank to take the wrapped coins without making it a hassle. Ive been asked a ton of questions and more than once they do not accept them at all.

Hello. I used to search for silver dimes about 3 years ago. Today I got a box of $250.00 got skunked, but not discouraged at all. I found some close dates by looking at the worn edges. the tally is from left to right.

5-1965 (I call this date "almost" lol)
3-1966 2 of them have environmental damage. I kept the bottom 1 because it was in the ground for awhile and looked like copper.
    5-1967
    6-1968
    2-1969
1-1977 ground very flat that I liked because of the flat ware it had on it.

Got my 600 dollars of bagged cents from a member of another forum a couple weeks. So far, nothing fantastic...but this 1998 WAM came out of the last half bag I searched:

Do you shop at amazon or iTunes, or do you eat out at Applebee’s? Coinstar gives 100% money back if you turn it into a gift card. It’s what I used to do.

I meant to put half dollars in original post. 500 gift card is too much

Lol, clearly you do not shop enough :p you can also hold them and spend them at stores. It’s always a hoot to watch people react to Half dollars.

My latest box of pennies is a smorgasbord of wrappers.
Some both ends folded, some one end open and some machine wrapped. Did all the both ends folded. A couple rolls had some of the ugliest Zink you ever saw. Getting enough clean 2010 and up to have nice end coins. Have gotten a few wheats but nothing special. Getting some nice 81 and other years and some not so good. About to do three of the machine wrapped.

Ha! I tried that about a decade ago for xmas shopping. I lugged a complete box to the mall, and paid for everything in halfs. I think I started buying stuff just to lighten the load.

Ill rephrase again. I was getting 2 boxes a week and dont need to spend $1000 a week on gift cards. I agree spending here and there is possible but id rather roll and turn them in.

Well, I don’t quite know how to help you then. Banks are about making money and CRHing doesn’t help their bottom line. Little kids with diapers are an amazing way to spend lots of money each week. :-D there will likely be a point in everyone’s CRH experience where they no longer have a dump location.

It's not in the best condition, but it's better than the one that @Shrews1994 pulled the other day :p

Well, it finally happened to me. Bought a Loomis box of cents a couple of months ago and finally got around to opening it hoping for some wheaties and maybe an IHC. One look and I groaned, all solid 2018-D rolls. So now I will open a few few rolls and pick the best coins to update my albums. I’ll keep a couple of rolls intact for posterity, and see if my coin dealer friend wants some. The rest will get dumped. :yack:
