I've gotten at least 500 dollars in ikes from banks. I do check for them.
In this batch it was mostly 1978 and 1976 ikes. There was one 1971 and 2 1972s. I was very surprised. No good bicentennial ike varieties either.

Made it through a box of nickels this evening.
43P, 09D, nice MS 52S, and a Korean 50 won. Nothing amazing. I'm having a bit of a rough patch the last couple weeks. One more box of nickels to go for the week.

    I plucked a better 1994P from a nickel roll.
    Better 51D too.
    But I can't find a 78P for nothing.

10 dollars in halves, all bicentennial... weird.
From the same bank they gave me a 1928 E 5 dollar bill, only because i caught it with my eagle eye as they opened the drawer

The last date between 1959 and 1992, all mints, that I found in high grade undamaged was 1978p. Don't know why.

Also, the 4 toughest non-silver years to find one coin from any mint (know as one-a-year date collecting) are:
1950 (I have found only 2 this year)
1938 (I have found only 3 this year)
1942 (I have found only 10 this year)
1951 (I have found only 11 this year).
To give you perspective, I have found 1,595 of the 1964 dated nickels this year.
    I'd save every undamaged nickel from 1938, 1942, 1950 and 1951.

Haven't posted in a few years, but found these today in the register, out of all the years I had roll searched I never have found a Washington commemorative.

Picked up $160 in dimes & $40 in nickels, only thing I'm keeping is a '43-P war nickel. In the nickels there were some '38s, a '41, '42 type I, '49, and some late 40s and early 50s, but I don't really collect those so I'm throwing them back in the pot for another collector to find.

I don't understand how, but I picked up $140 in large dollars from a bank tonight and found another silver Ike...I'm shocked, but obviously very pleased!

As you can see, the silver is a '71S

This is the first time EVER I obtained Ikes in wrappers, which is noteworthy.

I also found 4 Cu-Ni clad proofs in $25.5 worth of CWR and loose halves from another bank...I'll take 'em!

Thank you Berto! I picked up a very dark 67 with a hole from a teller today. She also had 76 Ike with a hole too. Who would do such a thing to a coin!
