Hello, I received 5 sets of reverse proof from us mint. 3 peace Dollars have what looks like a proof dot in front of word "united", 4th coin has a dot but not as strong as other 3. I would like to submit them for grading and would like to know if it would be problem coins or some kind of error coins. Thank you.
If it is raised. Then it could be something. It looks to me to be a frosting issue and would take away from the grade.
FYI I know this is not what you asked but having your proofs graded will not add value to them. You and the coins are better off remaining in the Original Government Packing (OGP) with the COA. JMTC, YMMV.
The 2021 set I purchased in MS70. The 2023 set I purchased on subscription from the mint and have no regrets doing it this way. So I would leave them in OGP. I think the increase in the mintages 2021 vs 2023 and the fact the anniversary is over is the reason they don't have the value of the 2021s. I would not send these in due to highly possible not coming back as 70s. This certainly IMHO. If you do send in for grading good luck.
If you think you have a mint error you also need to pay an extra fee for error/variety attribution not just the fee for grading.. New collectors aren't aware of that. And if it's not an error you don't get your money back.
Just leave them as you received them. In a short time you’ll known if it’s an error or not. I don’t think it is, Welcome to CT.
Agreed. Leave 'em in the OGP. Waste of money to have to have them graded AND attributed for an error (likely with an unsatisfactory outcome).
Security for the Seabee's? Thank you. I thought we provided our own security. Did you watch over the beer and alcohol?
Lol. I'm sure seabees didn't need anyone to watch for their alcohol, but when they built schools and whatever else had to be done we helped out.
