I put on my finest deerstalker, zoomed in via Paint, and went to work!



Got a post-it note where I totaled my various observations. Certainly no way to conclusively know the "thickness" of the middle, but with this approach it was possible to estimate how the coins stacked - starting from the outside of the pile and moving inwards. I am nearly 100% certain there are unseen, unaccounted coins here; however, I've seen enough 'Price is Right' reruns on GSN to know it's (maybe?) better to underestimate here...

 

Well that was certainly a very heroic effort! I hope you score well @Dima and that you may be rewarded for your efforts!

I got a good look at it from a satellite in space, and it said the center is at least 4" deep. At least.
