I have a coin that appears to be dated 1199. Appears Middle Eastern or
Aramaic in origin. One side shows a set of mid-located scales with 1199
located in the middle, and apparently Middle Eastern writing on the obverse. On both sides, the features are rimmed with a scroll work pattern inside a ring. Truly an unknown to me ... anyone have any guesses ?

Sorry - I just couldn't resist. Seriously though, it's more likely that the coin was minted in western years 1784-85 than 1199, as that is the equivalent period to 1199AH, the dating system used in most of the Muslim world. Even that seems a little early, and the coin may be dated in one of the other systems. If you can, post pictures of both sides as there could be characteristics on either side that would assist in attribution.
