Hi everyone, A friend of mine sent me this picture and asked me what these soins are. These seem like owl tetra but I guess they are not silver... Do you thşnk they are fake? I need help! Thanks...
Not sure where you're located, but posting at 3:00 A.M. eastern time (U.S.) is not going to generate alot of responses! Be patient, someone will be along to help, as I know very little about ancients. I do know that this is a heavily conterfeited coin... and a better picture would help. Good luck!
hey thanks for the reply Im in Turkey actually. This was found in Synnada. I did some research on this and this doesnt seem like tetra cuz it's not silver. it's either bronze or copper. so it must be some other greek coin. not sure though. Will be waiting for the replies.
Thanks guys. Owl coins should be silver right? These are pretty bronzy... They seemed pretty fake to me too...
What more do you want to know? Given the bronze, poorly cast state of them, its likely that they were created for the tourist trade.
owl Tetradrachm I came across an owl Tetradrachm in Iraqi-Kurdistan, its not copper or silver, are there gold owl Tetradrachm?
hi i didnt want to open a new topic so ill post my similair coin here, i suspect its fake. could you take a look at it, its a copper/bronze coin with a bearded man on the front and back a puppet like thing.
Hiya Toned coins - I assume, this is the Ruler ahem, Chief, of CoinSpace???? Re. the Owl coin, as far as I know, the owl is the owl of Athena. Here's a load more.. http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/greece/attica/athens/t.html Must admit I don't know why yours has two owls though..
