    Hi,
i came across this lot of 1840 british india rupee coins on ebay search and was wondering how they would be graded. Please note that these are not owned by me nor do i have any $ to make either by buying or selling it. These are listed on ebay by Surana Art. My purpose behind starting this thread is to only know how i would spend my $ in case i ever come across one in person and also was surprised to see 20 coins with the same dealer. only thing i can see is they are all type1 of vict bust.
All these are listed currently for about 10$ +SH.
maybe this will cheer HRH spock :)

Save your money and don't buy or send for grading. The buy price is good for some but not worth grading.

which ebay are they on? I checked India, UK, USA and no seller of that name on any of them.

He was asking how to grade them in case he were to buy one himself, not should he send them to a TPG.

I am a not a grader, but here goes. I would like to see what others have to say. It would be easier with them all laid out, not photos .

here goes, if i was looking at them.

    international grading,
    1ag, 2vg, 3g, 4g, 5g, 6g, 7g, 8g, 9g, 10 vg, 11af, 12 vg-af, 13g, 14,vf, 15f, 16 af, 17 af, 18 vf-xf, 19 xf.
Add a grade for US generally.

were on ebay india... someone from mumbai was selling them but now they r gone.. i checked it but they r not there.. there is no indication on the user profile that they were sold..
De_orc, my apologies the user name is not surana_arts (or surana arts) it is a shop named that way on ebay india... i was under a dilemma whether to post the ebay details here as i dont want this post to be seen as a seller' advertisement..
i myself am from that city.. but i am NOt the seller or the buyer...wish i could have atleast got to hold 1 of them
