    Wow! I have nothing close to these examples. Interesting though to see what happens to coins and how it could have happened. Heartbreaking is to see deliberately damaged older coins (graffiti). What a waste! Coins for me are a great history lesson. I just hate to see deliberately ruined coins. What were those idiots thinking?

    I discovered this contest too late.

    And although I've been collecting for only a few years, it never occurred to me to SAVE any horribly destroyed coins. I bring them to the bank so they can receive a proper melting and their ashes spread to future generations of coins.

    It's wild that you guys actually save these post-production deformities. I feel odd for thinking they deserve honorary melts, but hey, what do I know? Maybe their glory is in display here on CT.

    One thing is for sure - I certainly learn something new every time I visit here! :eek:
