I like old European coins - it"s very nice coins. And when I hold them in my hand, I think about people, who held it several centuries ago.
Who was that people? Nobleman? Peasant? Probably a king? Or a beggar?
And my imagination begin a trip across the Past...
Well... I want to show You several old Spanish coins. And I hope, that your imagination will float on the sea waves... sea, which name is grey-haired History.

Philippus III was the son of the Philippus II (Spanish king in 1556-1598). He was born in 1578 in Madrid. When his father died in 1598, Philippus become a king, as Philippus III.
During his long reign (1598-1621) Spain began to lose the power.
But his coins was very nice and pretty. I am glad to share with You that splendid coin: 8 maravesis 1618, copper. XF - UNC.

I love old Spanish silver coins from the golden age of piracy, you can almost imagine Blackbeard spending one on a visit into Port Royal for a bout of drinking, womanising and gambling on shore...
