Ha! I couldn't resist posting this. An old lady stuffs $10,000 in a box of crackers, accidentally returns the box of crackers to the store, another family buys the crackers and returns the money - they never hear from the old lady - not even a thank you note. The old lady is probably too busy turning in her silver halves at the local bank. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081227/ap_on_fe_st/odd_cracker_box_money
Pocket Change If she forhot about putting the nibet ibn the cracjer bixm she probably forgot about the money being returned ir doesn't remember who returned it. Since a hunan being can't outgive God, God probably bestowed a Spiritual gift to the couple who returned the money (wonder what the issue dates were on the paprt currency lol... Clinker
WHO THE HECK RETURNS AN OPENED BOX OF CRACKERS??????????? What'd she do.... take a bite of a cracker and then say to herself..... oh, I bought crackers!?!?!?!? My mistake, now I need to return them for cookies? People are nuts.
This was my first thought. She was probably just lonely and wanted someone to talk to. "If she forhot about putting the nibet ibn the cracjer bixm" You okay there, Clinker?
It could possibly be that the old woman could be in the early stages of dementia. Her life savings where in that box according to the story. How many people that you know of would put all their money in a cracker box and then forget they had it there. I had to deal with similar situations with my mom and my girl friends mom for about six years. Boy could I tell you some stories. Lou
Q Lou, You're probably right.... but that is still funny..... not the dimentia part, but the returning the crackers part. I wonder if she had her receipt? LOL! All I have to say is ...... SHAM WOW! I hate that commercial...its on right now. LOL!
This is a nice story of a nice famiy. but maybe not a nice old lady i mean come on at least say thank you to them for finding your 10,000 dollars lol
when I worked the overnights at Rite-Aid we used to get a lot of this. It is a combination of many things including poverty, remorse, and loneliness. For many elderly people that buck and a half looms over them. Ruben
LSM and Ruben may just have a point here! I did some camera work for a Health Cares System Mental Facility a few years back. The layout was indeed cool, no matter what door you exited it led you in a circle so you simply could not get lost! The mind is a powerful thing wether it is working correctly or not! I doubt that anyone has the right story or for that fact no one will ever know the real story behind it...LOL Polly want a Cracker?? RickieB
Poly has been extinct for a long while now, but the Monk Parrakette is an import which seems to be surviving.. Ruben
