I was given this coin from an old collector friend of mine. I didn't give much thought on it thinking it was probably some bronze type of the Hellenistic states. Then I realized that the portrait of Heracles resembles in style very much those produced by Kassander. I made my research and I found that indeed Kassander has this type of Heracles portraits and also on the obverse of other coins the tripod. These coins though with the tripod feature Apollo on the obverse and it seems that the combination of Heracles and tripod is not existent. What does this mean? Is it an error when the coins where produced and they used the wrong die?
