I just found, in pocket change, 1979 Lincoln cent (no pics sorry) It seems to be about F-VF but here's the thing... I don't know what a small date or large date is? And I don't see a mintmark? Also, the "1" is higher than then rest of the numbers in the year and there is approx. 10% rotation on the reverse. Any thoughts?? Thanks
The key is the level of the 7. If it is level with the rest of the date, then it is a small date. There are several other criteria. See; http://lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1970Ssmalldate.html
Also, the large verse small date only is with the 1970-S. If your coin doesn't have an "S" mint mark below the date, then there is no large or small varieties. Based on your description, your coin doesn't have a mint mark.
True!!!!!! I forgot that year. and I should not have!!! mine was thing 70's not 80's brain fart 1 for today@
