    I woke up early on the 4th of July this year and went outside to do some metal detecting. I had just gotten a new metal detector and I was in the process of hunting my own property. I dug for about an hour and didn't find anything interesting. Finally, I walked to the section of grass right in front of my house and dug up a William III Halfpenny. It's by far my oldest coin found metal detecting, followed by an 1839 large cent. It was crazy finding a coin from that era on the 4th of July :)

    Also I don't want the prize so don't include my name in the random drawing.

    Sure did! I found a colonial shoe buckle and a skeleton key behind the house and a sterling ring near the halfpenny. It was great.
