That's a nice looking Eagle. None of mine look that good. They're too expensive for me to have a really good one.

It caught my eye because of the detail. Not really a U.S. collector but I am building a small type set. I think the seller knocked it down a bit on price because of the color.

Exactly !! Most Flying Eagle Cents are really worn down, and with only 3 years of production, it costs to get a good one.

It's none of my business, but I bet you gave at least $25.00 for that one.

That flying eagle is just stunning, if I were you I would send it to NGC for the heck of it.

I think we would probably would all do the same, But if i would be able to travel time, I would buy a whole bunch of silver certificate's in todays age......then get in a time machine and take my thousands of dollars in silver certificates to 1955 ( the best time of all time ) to buy cherry coins back in the day!

I got into collecting because of a Mercury Dime I found in circulation. It took me over a decade to find another! They're still out there, but not many....

Thanks, but it is a lamination, not a die chip.

Entry post. Mr Abercrombie dropped a roll of silver coins on his toes and maybe broke one. Hope they weren't Ike's. I hope Randy is healing nicely

@jonathan layne - this is not the For Sale forum. You'll need to go there to see stuff that's for sale. If you want to ask people questions like "is that for sale" or "how much did you pay for that", you need to start a private message (conversation), not ask stuff like that in the public discussion forums.

Smokey seems to enjoy holding weighted coin flips and when he does, he is more likely to come out of the cage with me. It'd be cool if I could get him to say 'Mint State' or something besides my 'off color' words. Note: no harm is done to the coin :)
