After years of collecting modern coins an notes, I started to loose my interest.
Re-discovered ancient coins and started, this time seriously, to collect them.
I think this was the one that made my say "I need to have THIS!" - I simply liked it and I like it even more when it's mine

I found this brass ring recently while metal detecting. There is a “coin” mounted on it and the face appears to be a replication of a Mayan calendar. But if you look on the inside you will see a face staring at you.
the face is Father Miguel Hidalgo, “The Father of Mexico”. He led the Mexican Revolution and was executed by firing squad in 1811. Note this ring has 8 very sturdy prongs. Somebody wanted to ensure it did not fall off.
there is an archeologist who specializes in Spanish relics who wants to examine it
